If we decide to have RPG’s in different time frames, I don’t see any problems. Who ever runs the RPG can pick what everyone will have to wear. I believe that what I am getting at is it just looks slack if we are all wearing different stuff. We should all look the same no matter what it is we pick.

I would reccomend it just be put to an offical vote this week. Let the group as whole decide to ahve the standarized uniforms or not. I myself am willing to offer group discouts at upload if you decide to use the grey shoulder First Contact DS9 uniforms. 20 lindens wouldnt be that much per uniform and if you go with the colored shoulder voyager uniforms, you woudlnt even ahve to worry abouyt business.

in a show of good will to the group, i am going to offer a new deal to all of you all of my grey shoudler high rez first contatc uniforms are now free Look up Absent Designs in the classifeds for a port to the vendor to get yours today! Wow, thanks Niko. that is very kind of you. As one of the new guys I was going to ask where I could get one at the next meeting/event. For my $0.02 on this thread I agree with most of what has been said. If I were to host an RP event I would try an make sure everyone was "in costume for my event". One of the perks for participation would be that you got to keep the costume if you didn't have it already. That being said I think offering at least one uniform (like the voyager uniform in the starter pack) is a great idea because it offers new members (like myself) an opportunity to jump right in and feel like they are a part of the group from day 1. If everyone prefers the DS9 uniform then that should be the one in the starter pack (I'm all for a vote here and if needed some sort of compensation to the designer). I think the DSP is my personal favorite and the only other uniform I have really wanted to see (and own in RL) is the one Picard wore toward he end of the TNG. Now being the collector and fashion victim that I am in SL I would also go and buy new SFSL items and clothing that appealed to me because I love that kind of thing and I believe in rewarding people for their hard work. For some the reward of doing the work and seeing others use/wear and enjoy it is enough, others jst want back what they put into it and some just want to pay thier rent. That should be reflected in the price they set and it is not for me to judge them, but i can decide if I want to buy it or not. Personally I would love to see someone make a 29th century uniform (hint hint) and yes I would buy it. ;-) We could even have a contest among the talented designers here to make a unique SL version that we could all vote on, As compensation or a prize we could have a entry fee or members could pay to vote, or as part of the contest we buy our favorite as our vote (the Admiral, or someone he assigns could set up the vendor/voting boxes and tally the sales of each to announce the winner and award the prize .)
OK I seem to have gone into stream of consciousness brainstorming mode so I should stop now...

actually, its the standard uniform assigned to all command officers. IT may have appeared to be an admrial's uniform in Voyager, but that is only true because there were no captains seen on voyager. going off the movies and DS(, one cna clearly see that it is nto a special uniform made onyl for the admiralty. Besdies, rank really doesnt mean thingy outside of rp.
