I'm just taking this opportunity to post a picture of my model, and offer to answer any questions.

You dont mention a prim count. As your central disks seem to be about the same as mine, that would be 30 prim circumference X 3 for floor and roofing, X 3 maybe to double the size of the offices and add a corridor. (c. 300) Small square tower, 6 levels X 4 or 6 prims office and turbolift flooring. (c. 116) Guessing wildly on the round tower. 45prims a level X 8 (360) and misc for the connecting hallways, lower ring etc.
I feel an estimate of prims is important for future planning, but I do like the shape of yours. If the vote goes for no Space Station or ground RP area, I wouldnt be too distressed by your design.
If we elevated it on a prim hill, could put the forest underneath it I suppose.

Dirjha,
First, let me thank you for some positive comment about my design. I am sure I am not the only person who doesn't provide a prim count. I think that the only accurate answer I can provide is that "it depends". I favor building things with the least number of prims without compromising a design. It sometimes requires re-working a texture to add trim to it so that you don't have to use separate prims to trim a wall or a door frame. One thing I don't have is the prim counts on the old buildings, but I suspect that there were many unnecessary prims used in putting the building together.
I like your space station design, but as a space station, not for the main headquarters. I have several concerns about an entire space-based build. For one thing, there are other startrek sims which have done this already. I don't think we should copy them in concept. Another concern is that the ceilings end up being too low for my AV. I find many builds suffer from this problem. For instance, the medical section of the new RP build requires I go into mouse view so that I can walk down the corridors. This is one of the reasons why I don't really like using the shuttles. For my tall AV, I have to de-rez the shuttle to get out of it.

Height allowances is a common mistake made my new builders. I too made that mistake when building the SSS project. Someone pointed out that you need to make room for the camera which sits above the avatars head. That's why doors are often oversized, although they don't look it.
Doors that are correctly proportioned according to the eye, you will find that the camera get's lost in the structure and involves adjusting the camera angle to get yourself out of the wall. because of this I also avoid using shuttles and have also had to go about the SSS changing the sizes of doors and cielings so they are more comfortable.
I like Andro's design, but i have building rounded things, as its harder to align. Though its pleasing to the eye. The best thing I like is the raised crossing platforms from one building to the other.
