Ensign Kennet Agnon will be the manager of the Bar. It will open this week! Woot!! The structure on the station will be a temporary one. The sim development team will set it up, while plans for the final project are underway. Any one for happy hour at Quarks?

Greetings to all the patrons of Quarks be they human Klingon Ferengi whatever I hope you will all enjoy the entertainments and games i will be providing.
Although the sim is set to mature the Bar will have a PG/R rated theme, Yes there will be if any one wishes to take teh roll of the Dabo girls and dancing but no nudity or sex will be allowed.
I will be personaly purchasing games and if i can find them items that fit teh ST/SCfi theme as well as running dances weekly times and dates will be annouced to fit in with the schedules I am aiming for a regular Friday or Saturday may be even Sunday an hour or two befor the Gen meeting slot for the dance
Needed for the club is either a DJ from our own members or I can use one of the many for hire DJ's and Radio stations on SL
next Dabo or Games that would fit in with the theme although i will not be running the place as a huge money making casino. I am sorry but I do not have the funds or time to do that on a 24/7 basis. but if any one has free games that will work let me know and we can work them into the biuld.
on dance night i will hold Prize/raffel ball events with Linden cash prizes (and if any one wants to help me out with ST themed freebies, clothing ships weapons etc let me know)
if any one wishes to take up the DJ position or help in any other way leave me a message in this thread or drop me an IM on sl anyway I have to run and start shopping for the new place

sundays an hour or two before the general meeting would nto be a good time for a dnace. It's wya too early. i suggest you think an horu or tweo after the meeting. That's closer to a time when people might like a dance.

Having a dance event before the meeting would work much better for me. I am in UK. How about some dancing then meeting then some more dancing? I could manage that.

ok tonights open was attended and went well, but I think addvance warning for any other events, so we can notify more people and place an event listing for the event would be better,

The grand opening sunday did go well and also there was a big party tuesday after role play, we have one little problem, music! Each time there is a party the stream has to be set, and sometimes the streams are off the air. Anyone have any ideas about music? I would like Quarks to be open 24/7 and anyone that wants to have a party or dance can do so! Leaving a party stream on all the time is not an option, that stream would be heard down on the sim.

As far as limiting the music to just the bar area, the only way that I have seen it done on private islands are to divide the land. You would do it the same as you do it for those who rent land on private islands. Once you enter that residence or business parcel, the music changes to whatever that renter has the land set to. As for members to have access to music whenever they want (ex. non-event) , so far, radio receivers has been the best thing to work for group. I saw one on slexchange thats perfect for land set to group or land deeded to group and for clubs and djs. To be honest it is a bit costly but for the features it comes with, it may just simplify things for the group to be able to enjoy it. If you want to have a look at the radio (full instructions are even written here)here is the link: www.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=55847

What are people selling these days? A radio reciever is an extremely simple script. In fact, here's one you might consider using instead. Drop this on a handy cube somewhere. Only thing this doesn't have is a list of stream URL's, which are trivial to nab themselves. I checked out the link. My take: Pretty textures, but so not worth it, especially since only one person can have that hud attachment. It's much better to have an object that several people can use instead.
// Script: AudioCube // Purpose: Simple audio box. Click the object to set music URL. Object must be placed by parcel owner or deeded to owning group. Will allow configuration of parcel's music control. // Author: Aleena Yoshiro (aleenaelyn@gmail.com)
// Security Overrides: Set to 1 to enable integer AllowAnybodyToUse = 0;
list MENU_OKONLY = ["Ok"]; // the menu containing only an ok button
check_status () { // Figure out if this device is allowed to adjust media properties // If so, set it up if (!llOverMyLand(llGetKey())) { llSay(0, "This " + llGetObjectName() + " must be owned by the same owner or group that owns this land."); } }
default { state_entry() { check_status(); }
touch_start(integer total_number) { if (llSameGroup(llDetectedKey(0)) || llGetOwner() == llDetectedKey(0) || AllowAnybodyToUse == 1) { llListen(0, "", llDetectedKey(0), ""); llSetTimerEvent(60); } else { llDialog(llDetectedKey(0), "You must be the owner or set your active group to this " + llGetObjectName() + "'s group.", MENU_OKONLY, 1); } } listen(integer channel, string name, key id, string message) { if (llSubStringIndex(message, "://") != -1) { llSetParcelMusicURL(message); llSay(0, "Music URL is now set to: '" + message + "'"); } }
timer() { llSetTimerEvent(0); state rest; } }
// State rest: Switching into this state then back to default provides a quick way to reset the script and close open llListens. state rest { state_entry() { state default; } }
