All potential teachers please leave a message here with your class name and the times you will be avaliable to teach it. Each class you want to teach should have a seperate post.
Example:
Dora Resistance Basic Building Wednesdays 7-8, Galaxy Sandbox
An IM to me in Game will do as well.
I will be reviewing Teachers and Lesson Plans as I recieve applicants.

What type of clases do you want? Practical? RP? Both?

Being new to SL I could only teach "How to Log in". However, to help you out, I would be attending pretty much all classes, except belly dancing.

Scripting, basic and advanced. I would focus on specific projects to be completed by the end of the lecture / lecture series.

Respectfully submitted to Star Fleet Adacemy: I'd like to assist as I can. Perhaps I could teach a class on Star Fleet Regulations and protocols. I'm kind of a stickler for them anyway, and it wouldnt hurt to educate others about what is and isnt acceptable by the United Federation Code of Military Justice (UFCMJ). Also, some ST terminology possibly. I dunno. Let me know what you think and I'll try to work out a free time I can do something.

I will respond to more then one of the points presented in this tread.
#1 As an update Zed has done a great job on a RP training. I hope there will be additional classes on this topic. 20 AVs attended.
#2 The Commandant of the Academy (recently assigned) has notified the admiralty that rl has limited her participation And she will not be very active in this position for a period of unspecified time. She is seeking a temporary replacement/ assistant.
Those interesed in teaching, pls dont be discouraged in the delay in responding to your post. Until the academy has some formal set-up, pls do as Zed and contact, admiral Cobramax or my self to schedule, and we will assist you with details, marketing, Linden payment if you are interested etc.
#3 While rules and regulations are important, certainly Any that are applied to the group must first be cleared by the admiralty. My experience has been that there can be varying interpretations, and applications of the rules and in how it is implemented in SL. Something like this would need to be reviewed by the admiralty and the general group body. As an example: A member wanted to see standard wear in RPs. like, voyager, original series etc. There was a group discussion on this at one of our previous general meetings For many reasons it was concluded that that order was not desirable.
There are plenty of ppl that want and try to tell the admiralty how to manage the group, but we elect to be a democracy allowing members input. By doing this we hope to design a SLQuadrant that best pleases the quorum of the group.
Currently there is one member on the regulatory division. You are welcome to join the division to work together to submit recommendations for group regulations. You previous post is excellent on regulations, however directive by directive needs to be reviewed/edited to meet the needs of the SFCSLQ group.

I am currently working on the second lecture in my series. The working title is "I Joined Starfleet, Now what?" [I'm trying to think up something better ] I will introduce you to the different departments in Starfleet Command and give a brief description for each. I am away next week (from stardate 060520 to 060527) So look for an announcement the last week in May. After that, I will turn to the topic of First Contact Protocols. This will be the beginning of a small series of training for Duty Officers and Ambassadors. Of course this is all subject to change and approval by Command Please let me know if you have any comments. Ensign Zed Drebin, Chief of Research

I am curious about lending a 'teaching' hand in RP ( role play ). I am not sure where it would fit in, after the weekly meeting, Starfleet Academy, tactical training or wherever. I feel there maybe a few people in RP who might need a few ideas about RP in Startrek. I've been rp-ing in an all TEXT environment where u can imagine things are happening much like they do on the shows. The last three (3) simulations of story on the Bridge made me wonder about what people really know about bridge operations, engineering and science personnel possibilities adding to sims when one is not the main characters or direclty in the story line, then again even the main characters! If there is a place to spend ideas, someone please let me know. If not, I hope my role play fun will further spur ideas around on what other character's might think their own characters can, should, would of 'think' of doing - in the role play arena.

Do you think anyone wants to hear a lecture on Klingon things? Pretty much any Klingon topic that isn't to specific such as "The use of the Klingon Mummification Glyph in the architecture of Second Dynasty", I could talk up for as long as people are willing to listen.
I too have a much different idea about what roleplaying should be about than I've seen in your game, so you probably don't want me lecturing on that! It's not for casual roleplayers at all.

I currently teach at Academy of Second Life and I am Linden certified. The way to get certified is exactly how Fadm Bixby has described it. Since Academy of Second Life is still fairly new each instructor is in the phase of developing lesson plans for alot of topics. I have introduced a new class to them called the AO class (Animation Overrider). It includes how to load, edit, use and troubleshoot common script errors that you get. In attendance their device recorded 26 students. Im wondering if anyone here would be interested in a class like that I would be happy to teach it at Galaxy.

Will review the calendar and schedule an AO class.
Also I would love to do a lecture on "Establishing a rapport with your officers".
This lecture would include how the lead, chief or admiral can establish trust, respect, loyalty and an overall good working relationship with their officers. How do you have a friendship but at the same time keep the respect of your officers. How do you help them to grow into leaders and how can you carry yourself in a way that they view you as a role model.
