Thank you for you interests in joining the academy. Once you have become a member of StarfleetCommand SLQ, you are automatically enrolled into the academy. There is no additional paperwork or special requests needed to become a student of the academy. It is open to all members.
One small difference is that if you are a cadet rank and have been a member at least 2 weeks, you can take a cadet course and test and upon passing will promote your rank to Ensign. Again, no paperwork or requests are needed, just simply review your "Application to join", the one you filled out and gave to Personnel Div for the date you joined the group. Two weeks from that date you may just come to class at the next training date announced. Just watch for announcements in 3 places:
Here on the forum under Academy classes, or the calendar will give you a quick look at the next date the class will be held; also in front of Vice Commandant Dane Seattle's office is a lighted pole with hovering text above it stating the next class date and time; also if confirmed ahead of time, I will make the announcement of the class during Sunday general meeting.
In the meantime, learn all you can, review the sim rules and other information provided in the notecards you received when you bought the initial kit. Participate in regular events, like role play and tactical. This way you are familiar with the group and sim by the time you come to class in 2 weeks. The class will then act as a review and not something new and foreign to you.
Any questions in general please ask any senior officer (leads or chief officers, admirals or myself and Dane). Any questions regarding the academy please ask me or Dane.
