The Memorial Service for James Doohan (Montgomery “Scotty” Scott) was held at 3pm on 24th June in McCoy Park.
I would personally like to thank all those who were able to attend.
The transcript is below:
"Firstly, thank you for attending.
It is important that we remember those who have changed our lives in so many ways.
I am sure you will agree that Scotty should be amongst them.
We all have fond memories of Scotty, favourite moments, favourite sayings but let us not forget the man behind possibly the most famous Engineer to ever grace both our screens and our hearts.
The Enterprise would have been adrift far too many times if this Chief Engineer had not been at the heart of the ship.
He brought so much joy to so many people around the world and continues to live on in hearts.
Why are those, who give so much yet ask for so little, taken away from us.
It seems a little unfair.
If only we could change the laws of physics…
James Doohan (Montgomery “Scotty” Scott) passed away on July 20, 2005 at his home." Data Spectre
If anyone would like a copy of the Biography I gave out at the memorial service then please let me know.
Similar services for those who are no longer with us will be held in the future.
Thank you all for making it a very moving and special tribute.
My special thanks to Dane for the Amazing Grace Bagpipe Tribute and Chakotay for the Phaser fire salute.
