[15:28] Xantin Olejniczak: Good afternoon to you all.
[15:28] Katrina Bixby: waves.
[15:28] Xantin Olejniczak: Firstly I would like to appologise for my lack of attendance over the past few weeks and the lack of activity within Medical.
[15:28] Xantin Olejniczak: I believe the time has come, regretably, for me to announce my resignation as Chief Medical Officer within the sim. I no longer feel I have the time to dedicate to the operation of the subDivision, nor the skills & patience required to deal with the day to day operation of it's work. Comitments both in Real Life & Second Life mean that I can no longer fulfil the duties that I have enjoyed for some time.
[15:28] Jordguitar Flasheart:
[15:29] Xantin Olejniczak: It is my intention to remain present in the sim for some time to come as I still have numerous friends and interests that are present within this group. I may, with time, return to more active duties within the sim although I appreciate that I will be unlikely to return to my post as CMO.
[15:29] Xantin Olejniczak: I am currently in discussin with Vanessa to decide over whether there are duties I can still perform on behalf of SLQ and Science in general as I do not wish as yet to fully depart from your company.
[15:30] Xantin Olejniczak: I also must regretably announce that Deej will be standing down as Assistant CMO, we built Medical together and I thank him for his whole hearted support of myself and our work.
[15:30] Xantin Olejniczak: I would like to thank Vanessa for her support and assistance in the operation of our group and also the Admirals for giving me an almost free hand to operate Medical as I see fit. I would also like to thank everybody who helped to make Medical what it is and who supported me in my early days in the role of CMO.
[15:30] Xantin Olejniczak: Many thanks for your attention.
[15:30] Dirk Klees claps
[15:30] Jordguitar Flasheart:

[15:34] SFCSLQ Division Interests board: KirstenAnn Beck has an interest in the Medical subDivision!
[15:34] Vanessa Noarlunga: Science Report 16 Dear fellow officers I have to be very short today… Afalalota Cummings of the LAG research group is MIA and I have to be in his stead at the electronics expo and deliver an interview Tal Dix is the new ten Forward director after Antonio Bergbahn disappeared… (Must be my deodorant)
[15:35] Vanessa Noarlunga: We have so much growth and news for the Sci department that I could not fit it in 2 mins anyway…. There is a new web site (under construction) www.sfcslq-science.com for more news.
[15:35] Vanessa Noarlunga: Medical is being restructured: which better reflects the duties and tasks of SF medical. 3 departments under life sciences : Medical, Xeno Biology and Avatar development (skins, uniforms, shapes) Medical concentrates on the actual RP aspect of SF medicine and takes an active role in testing new recruits....
[15:35] Vanessa Noarlunga: Nothing really chances it is only restructured in more definite directions so we can get medical more active and become a more visual and focal part of the daily RP and SIM environment Part of this will be a Medical center with RP Med facilities in the new Constellation SIM. Interviews to replace Mr Olejniczak as Cheof of medical will be conducted as per admirality convenience and via my desk …details announced next week

[15:41] Si Arcadia smiles.
[15:42] You: Lead Research Lt Andromeda Quonset
[15:42] Andromeda Quonset: Thank you admiral, good afternoon everyone!
[15:42] Picard Maladay: /claping
[15:42] Andromeda Quonset: This will be brief.
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: If anyone has questions during my report, please feel
free to ask me at the end, and I will address them,
lag-permitting
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: Item 1: MEETING SCHEDULE INFORMATION
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: The research subdivision tries to meet once per week.
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: Notice of meetings is generally included in The Fleet
Admiral's weekly Announcements.
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: Please keep up with reading the announcment.
[15:43] Andromeda Quonset: Last week's meeting was cancelled becuase I was
needed in real life.
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: Sorry if anyone was inconvienanced.
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 26,
2007 at 7:00 PM SLT
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: Item 2: The Research subdivision is temporarily
quartered in the Sato Center, on the second floor.
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: You may drop notecards for me, or the subdivision,
into the PADD on my desk.
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: Additionally, there is a new online-indicator on my
desk. Clicking on it will result in a message sent
to me, both in-world and off-world, requesting my
presence to the location.
[15:44] Andromeda Quonset: Item 3: If you have a project suggestion, or any
other inquiry, the research subdivision prefers that
you put it on a notecard, and put it in the PADD on
my desk.
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: This helps with formalizing our projects, and keeping
projects from getting lost or forgotten, buried in
one person's inventory.
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: Or sent as an IM and never being documented at all,
depending on one person's memory.
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: Also, please remember to put your name in the
contents of any notecards, and rename the notecard to
something other than "New Note".
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: I have received my share of notecards which are both
named "New Note", and containing no names, forcing me
to have to look at the notecard properties to see who
sent it.
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset smiles
[15:45] Katrina Bixby: /claps....ty
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: Item 4 (LAST): As the admiral has mentioned, I have
been working on new turbolifts this week for the new
Galaxy buildings.
[15:45] Andromeda Quonset: I have a few comments I want to make, and I am just
trying to provide some information here.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: I apologize in advance if it comes off a bit harsh.
It is only intended to be technical.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: I built the lift that is in the Aeon Security
Building, several months ago.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: I have just upgraded it to the new scripts I am using
in the new Galaxy scripts.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: Since that time, I've come to a few conclusions:
Cadets seem to like to spend a lot of time constantly
riding up and down urbolifts.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: And, everyone who gets in a turbolift seems to want
to press the emergency button.
[15:46] Andromeda Quonset: If it isn't an emergency, DON'T!
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: This button does several things: it sends me an IM
and an EMAIL.
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: It also resets all the scripts in the turbolift.
This is a time-consuming event.
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: Usually, by the time I arrive, the person who pressed
the button is also gone.
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: When more of the dust has settled, I'll have a
notecard available about the turbolift.
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: End of report
[15:47] Monorplock Belford: an
[15:47] Monorplock Belford: andro
[15:47] Andromeda Quonset: Are there any questions? Comments?
[15:48] Monorplock Belford: sir perhaps i could help you with a simpler version of that lift
[15:48] Andromeda Quonset: Yes Monorplock?
[15:48] Monorplock Belford: i have some experence
[15:48] Andromeda Quonset: Thank you, but no.
[15:48] Andromeda Quonset: Any other questions?

[15:50] Si Arcadia: claps.
[15:50] You: there is a couple of reports im going to call for that are not in the agenda, but are of interest
[15:51] You: we will hear a brief report from a project
[15:51] You: th formation of Xenomusicology
[15:51] You: Bedwyr Merlin
[15:52] Bedwyr Merlin: Greetings
[15:52] Katrina Bixby: aye
[15:52] Bedwyr Merlin: Thank you, Admiral(s) for the time to address the assembly.
[15:52] Bedwyr Merlin: There have been a lot of questions about the nature of our project, so I wanted to hit the highlights with all of you.
[15:53] Bedwyr Merlin: To begin, any "ology" implies the study of a given subject intellectually.
[15:53] Bedwyr Merlin: Musicology, then, is an academic study of music - as opposed to the learning of a given instrument.
[15:53] Bedwyr Merlin: Ethnomusicology is a RL field devoted to the study of musics of various cultures.
[15:54] Bedwyr Merlin: Xenomusicology, then, is the Trek equivalent - affording the study of music from alien cultures as well.
[15:54] Bedwyr Merlin: The XenoMus project has several areas it will be concentrating on
[15:54] Bedwyr Merlin: first, we will be creating a "museum" of alien and Terran musical instruments and audio clips
[15:55] Bedwyr Merlin: Second, in conjunction with the Academy, we would like to begin offering classes about music - both RL music as well as music in Trek
[15:55] Bedwyr Merlin: Third - we will be creating various musical ensembles
[15:55] Ludo Merit leans forward eagerly
[15:56] Bedwyr Merlin: Last week, Lt Noarlunga mentioned a "marching band" - I'm not sure that's feasible - but we will be creating ensembles to play at various fleet functions.
[15:56] Bedwyr Merlin: If you're interested in taking part, please IM me or Ensign Jacobus (Asst Lead for the project)
[15:57] Bedwyr Merlin: Finally - and the biggie for me - is the formation of a program that will address the metaphysical and spiritual aspects of music
[15:57] Bedwyr Merlin: THis is what I do in RL, too
[15:57] Bedwyr Merlin: I would like to provide a service to the Trek community where individuals can explore the meaning of music for themeselves on a variety of levels.
[15:57] Katrina Bixby: ? so you are making a group theme song for the group?
[15:58] Bedwyr Merlin: If you have an interest in music - either as an active musician, or just a passing passion about music, please come see me.
[15:58] Bedwyr Merlin: Yes, Admiral - I have been asked to look into composing a theme song - I thought it was to be for Sciences, but I wouldn't mind also creating one for SFCSLQ
[15:59] Bedwyr Merlin: We have a wonderful facility now in Galaxy thanks to the generosity of Lt Noarlunga.
[15:59] Bedwyr Merlin: Feel free to drop by and visit!
[15:59] Bedwyr Merlin: Are there any questions i can answer at this time?
[16:00] Bedwyr Merlin: The deafening silence tells me I explained myself well. :-)
[16:00] Bedwyr Merlin: Thank you for your time!!
[16:00] Morgue McMillan claps
[16:00] Areyn Laurasia claps
[16:00] Warren Holt claps

[16:00] Si Arcadia: claps.
[16:01] You: look forward to a theme song for the group
[16:01] Bedwyr Merlin: Aye sir - I'll see if I can come up with smething appropriate!
[16:01] You: now, a brief report from a project of interest
[16:02] You: from Mikey Sinatra
[16:02] Mikey Sinatra: Hello. Many of us have already met, some of us have not. I'm the lead for a new project, DefTech Development. I have been given the task of updating the weapons used in SLQ. I have several models in the works, the most major of them is still undergoing testing by Admiral Cobramax. I'm anxiously waiting for the results of those tests. LOL
[16:02] Mikey Sinatra: I have a couple of other weapons in progress that I have been cleared to show you, that is if the officers here don't mind me temporarily brandishing a couple of prototypes?
[16:03] Totalus Karas: objection!
[16:03] Totalus Karas:
[16:03] Totalus Karas: just kidding
[16:03] Mikey Sinatra: Any actual objections? LOL
[16:03] Mikey Sinatra: This you will recognize as the Klingon Disruptor. It only has one setting, as is fitting for a Klingon weapon: KILL
[16:03] You: proceed please
[16:04] Katrina Bixby: demo awy..
[16:04] Areyn Laurasia: (only if we don't get to test it... )
[16:04] Mikey Sinatra: This weapon is nearing completion.
[16:04] Dwayne Lancaster: o
[16:04] Mikey Sinatra: Next I have the Klingon bat'leth. It has a wonderful script provided by DarkAlpha Bourne (Thanks again) that allows it to do actual damage just as a phaser or disruptor would do. I am in need of animations for this project, so feel free to drop a notecard in my box.
[16:05] Mikey Sinatra: Most of my work is considered classified, but I will answer any questions I can.
[16:05] Mikey Sinatra: Are there any? LOL
[16:05] Andromeda Quonset raises hand
[16:06] Mikey Sinatra: Andromeda?
[16:06] Andromeda Quonset: Where is your box?
[16:06] Mikey Sinatra: My office/home is located in the NW corner of Aeon. I have a sign on my house. LOL
[16:06] Dakota Ellison: These weapons work only in damage-enabled sims?
[16:06] Andromeda Quonset: Thank you
[16:07] Mikey Sinatra: So far, this is correct, providing that the tests deem this a better method of dealing with combat.
[16:07] Flight Band: All Go
[16:08] Mikey Sinatra: Anyother questions?
[16:08] Mikey Sinatra: Then I guess this concludes my report. Thank you.

[15:27] You: next, due to time considerations, our Lead-Medical Lt Xantin Olejniczak,
[15:28] Xantin Olejniczak: Good afternoon to you all.

[15:36] Vanessa Noarlunga: Other than this we are humming along. my division leads will give thier reports if they are here..
[15:36] Vanessa Noarlunga: thanks ,..any questions?

[15:37] Warren Holt: and holding weekly public events
[15:37] Vanessa Noarlunga: Such plans will be discussed with ther admirality and the new Ten Forward Manager Mr. Dix. It was the original plan to move it there yes

[15:38] Vanessa Noarlunga: any other questions?
[15:39] Vanessa Noarlunga: Admiral, Fleet Admiral I am done so it seems..may I be dismised?

[15:41] You: ok, guess not
[15:41] You: moving on
[15:41] Si Arcadia smiles.

[15:50] Si Arcadia claps.

Thank you.
[16:08] Warren Holt claps
[16:08] Morgue McMillan claps
[16:08] Dirk Klees claps
