You: welcome to the General Meeting
You: this meeting is for you to share with us ideas about the Group
You: the Sim and other properties
You: we want your input, because, Members make this group
Kekken Biberman: Ive got he most obvious. You need to build. Alot.
You: and working with you as a team we are strong
Kekken Biberman: Im blunt, I know.
You: now, lets cover some old bussness first
You: the 1st item on the agenda
You: an outline of a tour of the sim
You: a suggested tour route to take and to show others the sim
You: you can see the outline in the note card
You: any comments on that item?
Kekken Biberman: Well. Im going to be talking alot, arnt I? Sigh. Well, this route...
Al Kaiser: nope looks good
Kekken Biberman: Lag is going to be a factor.
Al Kaiser: question
Nikola Shirakawa: i understand it
Kekken Biberman: I cant make an automated one, if you need it.
Kekken Biberman: cAn*
Kekken Biberman: Can*
Nikola Shirakawa: i recommend a streetcar/shuttle system
Kekken Biberman: Itll eliminate the lag factor.
You: that has been considered
Al Kaiser: i've given a number of these tours and it is not a problem
Al Kaiser: no lag to speak of
You: and the posibilites for problems outweigh the benefits for now, you can rez a shuttle to go to the station, or there will soon be installed a group teleport system
You: there are plans however
Al Kaiser: the newbies enjoy the shuttle ride then tp back down - twice the fun factor
Kekken Biberman: RAndom question. Greifers: How to deal with?
Nikola Shirakawa: i got an idea for that
Brookston Holiday is online
You: to have unmanned shuttles roving about the sim to give abience
Kekken Biberman: Automated turret system could work.
Nikola Shirakawa: it doesnt seem like it would be too tough, but i dont know how to script
Nikola Shirakawa: a gun with a port-to-home command issued on the target
Byron McHenry: turrets seem to crash trhe sim
You: random questions need to wait till item 7
Kekken Biberman: Darn D: I like my random questions
Al Kaiser: question on this topic
You: ok, go ahead Al
Al Kaiser: will we still then direct ppl to SOS or willl there be a set up here to enrole and get gear?
You: well, i plan to keep the sos as a recruitment site, but this sim is where the bulk of the activities will be held, there is information at the sos directing people to this sim
Byron McHenry: \
Al Kaiser: i know that but the enrollment stuff is still at SOS
Al Kaiser: so if they come hhere first then we have to send them to SOS
Al Kaiser: could we not have the stuff at both sites?
You: yes, due to the fact that it has become a landmark, but your right Al, I need to set up enrollment material here also, thanks for the idea
Al Kaiser: ok sir
Nikola Shirakawa: wouldnt it be easier to just have ti all here, and cut out the land use tier at the operations site?
You: see previous comment
You: ok, any other questions on that topic?
Al Kaiser: no Sir
Kekken Biberman: Ne.
You: ok, moving on to item 2
You: the topic is: Standerd group uniform policy recommendation
Nikola Shirakawa: bad idea
You: and Sakai has prepared some thoughts
Nikola Shirakawa: people wont like it
Kekken Biberman: I dont do uniforms..
You: sakai, you have 3 minutes, i cede the podium
Talon Lardner: LEts hear this guy out first.
You: whre did he go?
You: he was here
Kekken Biberman: Name?
You: sakai
Kekken Biberman: /find Sakai
You: hmmm
Kekken Biberman: Not near here.
Nikola Shirakawa: he's offline
Talon Lardner: Maybe he crashed.
Al Kaiser: maybe crashed let's move on and come back to this isssue if he returns
Talon Lardner: *nods*
You: ok, we will hear that issue next meeting
You: moving on
You: next item
You: item 3
You: Duty Officer
Kekken Biberman: Good idea.
Kekken Biberman: But theres one problem...
You: we have posted the duties on the fourms
Al Kaiser: yes i've read them
Kekken Biberman: WE don have -that- many visitors, it could get dull really fast.
You: and they will be posted here also
You: not true kekken
Al Kaiser: u'd be surprised at how many visitors we get
You: this sim is very high rated in traffic
You: highest in all of sci-fi
Kekken Biberman: 1982.
Al Kaiser:
Kekken Biberman: My coffee house had higher traffic. 4026 :x
You: so, i dont think it will be that dull
Al Kaiser: question Sir
You: go ahead Al
Al Kaiser: do we have a system for griefers?
You: well, we do have to abide by the TOS of second life
Kekken Biberman: If we had a serious attack, I could call in the Alliance Marines
Nikola Shirakawa: i sya use my prot to home gun
Kekken Biberman: They'd deal with it no problem
You: if you report them to me, i can ban them from the sim
Nikola Shirakawa: an instant port to home as a warning
Al Kaiser: ok
You: so, take names
Al Kaiser: roger that Sir
You: linden security protocols will kick buts
Sator Canetti: Don't you think you should ask the marine position on that first, Kekken?
Kekken Biberman: Im an Officer.
You: hard to be a griefer if you cant get on the sim
Kekken Biberman: I have the authority to call in some help
Galaxy upkeep donation: Kitshoji Hauptmann donated to the tip jar in the amount of L$20
You: advantage of being private sim
Nikola Shirakawa: there shoudls tillb e a good wrning blow
Nikola Shirakawa: hit them once to show them they are treading on thin ice
Nikola Shirakawa: then ban them
You: ok, any more questions on that topic?
Nikola Shirakawa: i got three words about it
Kekken Biberman: I can do one thing.
Nikola Shirakawa: port-to-home gun
Al Kaiser: i think we should be good citizens and let the Lindens do the dirty work
Kekken Biberman: I can make a entire defense grid based on teleport home weapons.
Al Kaiser: that way we won't get banned
Tammy Kenzo: defending yourself witha gun is also a violation of the tos.. so careful on that one
Kekken Biberman: A single, central unit
Kekken Biberman: And relays around the sim
Talon Lardner: Exactly, Al... Fighing back is what the griefers want.
Kekken Biberman: To take them out
You: yes, we do abide by the laws, we are Starflet
Al Kaiser: yup
Nikola Shirakawa: it would be a nice warnign system as a precursor to banishment
Kekken Biberman: Technically
You: we will not have this sim be a battle ground for griefers
Kekken Biberman: This is private land
Kekken Biberman: So..
Kekken Biberman: We can use push weapons on them
Al Kaiser: so just drop u an IM about the griefer and let Linden handle it - is that our policy?
Kekken Biberman: But in the event of an atatck
Kekken Biberman: I know a few of the lindens as well
Kekken Biberman: Pop one over at most 5 minutes
Nikola Shirakawa: why woudl the prot to home be a bad idea? it woudl just be a simpel way fo kcikign them otu of the sim
You: yes Al, that is policy
Al Kaiser: Roget that Sir
Al Kaiser: we should put it in writing
You: agreed
Nikola Shirakawa: on the main grid, there are cetain rules that have to be followed, but as this is pirvate, those rules are nto nessecerrily valid
Al Kaiser: btw sign me up for DO
Auryn Sapeur is in agreement with Nikola.
You: very good Al, get with me after the meeting to schedule
Al Kaiser: roger Sir
You: well, as i stated before, I dont want the sim to become a griefer battle ground
Nikola Shirakawa: it wouldnt be a battle gorund
You: and banning is quite effective, is it not?
Byron McHenry: i think the only way we can use weapond is if this is a combat sim
Nikola Shirakawa: it would be a simple boot out the door type system
Byron McHenry: leagly in sl
Nikola Shirakawa: a warnign before banishment
Auryn Sapeur: if we report them and "port them home" how is it any different that simply reporting them and getting them banned with the exception that the griefer remains until banned?
Al Kaiser: no we have to be and should be model citizens
Al Kaiser: we represent the future
Nikola Shirakawa: thats why im suggesting this
Nikola Shirakawa: it woudl be a little mroe lenient that outright banishment
Auryn Sapeur: "Porting home" seems as harmless as a "stun" setting to me.
Al Kaiser: well i won't do
Al Kaiser: consider it our Prime Directive
You: banishment is what a griefer needs until they can prove to me beyond a doubt that they are inoccent
Al Kaiser: i agree
Nikola Shirakawa: well maybe they arne't innocent but made a msitake
Nikola Shirakawa: a noob that isnt aware of greifing protocols
You: well, they can talk to me about it, if it was innocent
Byron McHenry: they point of graifing is to purposely attack to dispupt the atmosphere of an area
Talon Lardner: *nods* a simple port and ban is the best, after all, griefers tend to grief to cause conflict, amd a port and ban denies them of what they even set out to do.
Al Kaiser: that is up to the DO descretion and judgement
Auryn Sapeur: I have been in places where griefers will grief and greif and grief driving the truly innocent away, I do not see how a port to home is "out of bounds"
Nikola Shirakawa: a simpler milder punishment before bannishment woudl protray a more enlightened image in line with the federation's oideals
Byron McHenry: there is no need to consider not banning unless they didnt do it
obanik Soyinka: we can have an auto-note card sistem that give and one who yps is a set of protacals
You: well, I will take this under advisment, but for now, inform me of griefer actions and i will take action !
You: now, lets move on to the next item
You: item 4
You: Divisions of the group and nominations
You: we will be posting the nominations for Division Chiefs and subDivision Leads on the fourums
You: and we will be setting up a voting system
You: we will have the names posted by midnite tonite
Nikola Shirakawa: i wnat to be in charge of group-needed textures
You: see me after the meeting
You: now, we have all had time to look over the proposed Divisions and subDivisions
Brookston Holiday is offline
You: and keep in mind that ranks as stated in the notecard may vary per individual, altho this is still under advisement
You: also, the research division mission statement is also under review
You: will give you updates on that in our next meeting
Al Kaiser: ok
You: any questions before we move on to item 6?
Al Kaiser: nope sounds good - i think as it gets into practice it will become more clarified
You: ok, lets move on to item 6
Katrina Bixby is online
You: member idea for super Star Trek Store at the station
Nikola Shirakawa: what idiot came up with that diea?
You: nikola has prepared a proposal
You: you....
Nikola Shirakawa: oh yea
Nikola Shirakawa: ok ig ot it
X-Flight, Carbon Rod X: All Go
You: so, i cede the podium for 3 minutes
Al Kaiser: here comes Sakai
Sakai Takashi: greetings ma'am, sir
Nikola Shirakawa: ok ds9 as amll will nto survive
Nikola Shirakawa: this is because it is missing one of the mos vital parts of any mall
Nikola Shirakawa: the big anchor store
Nikola Shirakawa: the lartge store that draws in the customers so they can check out the smaller little stores
Nikola Shirakawa: so i propose a special store is creaed on ds9 for everythign trek
Nikola Shirakawa: furnature, clothign, alien avatars, vehciles, weapons
Nikola Shirakawa: everything trek
Nikola Shirakawa: a store where eveyrone who ahs anything trek-related cna put thier tiems where they will be seen by the right people
Kitshoji Hauptmann: set up like the Dwellget in Taco?
Nikola Shirakawa: i am not familiar with that
Talon Lardner: Will there be any charge for setting up a vender in the mall?
obanik Soyinka: that would be nice
Nikola Shirakawa: my idea is for a group owned big store, where people know to go for anything trek related
Nikola Shirakawa: managed over by oen eprson to amke sure only trek tiems are for sale
Kitshoji Hauptmann: It's set up like a Target, each aisle has things by many different vendors, their items are displayed like items on a shelf.
Nikola Shirakawa: a free space for eveyrone to put thier tiems
Nikola Shirakawa: hat's exaclty what im thinking
Auryn Sapeur: I am for that, I know that my vendor is a bit... hidden
Sakai Takashi: well, i personaly thing that alot of the stuff should just be donated to the group and not sold for personal profits, but used for server fees and such
Al Kaiser: i though that was what the ENTIRE DS9 station wsas to be
Nikola Shirakawa: yes, ds9 is that to a point
Nikola Shirakawa: but allt he ltitle vendors woudl stills uffer from the noone knows about it problem
Talon Lardner: Is the mall going to be only star trek stuff, or is there going to be a star trek anchor section, and miscellanious venders spread out from that.
Al Kaiser: no anchor jsut a group of stores in a mall that specilize in Sci-fi
Nikola Shirakawa: the big shop woudl be soemthign eveyrone knows about
Al Kaiser: we need to have a big sraw
Nikola Shirakawa: and it draws int eh customers to the little vendors
Nikola Shirakawa: that specialize in sutff other than trek
Al Kaiser: DS9 by itdelf is the draw
Nikola Shirakawa: no its not enough by itself
Al Kaiser: i think it's more than enough
Nikola Shirakawa: well i say we put iut to a vote
Auryn Sapeur: I don't believe that all proceeds be donated. Maybe a charge or percentage, but if you demand that all creators donate all proceeds for the running of this sim then you are go ing to loose any potential creators and their talents who don't want to...
You: very well, thank you for your presentation, please post you idea on the forums for further discussion, we will review this during our next meeting
Auryn Sapeur: give up everything that they have worked for.
Al Kaiser: Roger That Sir
You: please review the idea and post your comments on the fourm
You: thank you nikola
Al Kaiser: will there be a new trhead fo it?
Nikola Shirakawa: you're welcome
Talon Lardner: What was the link to the forum again?
You: yes
You: slquadrant.proboards53.com/
You: there is a new look to the forums
Talon Lardner: Thanks!
You: and i have also posted group pictures from the recient events there also
Al Kaiser: oh cool
You: so you can go see if you are in the pictures
You: and show your friends just how famous you are
Sakai Takashi: =P
Talon Lardner grins. "Too bad I am too new to be in any"
You: ok, lets move on to item 7
You: questions
Al Kaiser: hehehe they already know - i tell them all the time hahaha
You: going once....
Al Kaiser: is there an expected move in date yet
Talon Lardner: I have a question about the member info board back on the mainland site
You: ok, move in date is to be announced
Al Kaiser: ok
You: and what is your question on the info board?
Katrina Bixby: Talon is new to group as of yesterday!
Talon Lardner: I was curious as to who I have to turn my information into if I want to make a profile on it
Katrina Bixby: You will be processed
You: you have to turn it in to me
Talon Lardner: OK, that I can do as soon as I type it up.
You: ok, any other questions?
Kitshoji Hauptmann: is there a form to fill out?
Nikola Shirakawa: arer we goign back to sakai's idea?
Al Kaiser: i think we should
You: ok, sakai, you have 3 minutes, present your idea
Sakai Takashi: aye sir.
Sakai Takashi: as many of you know i have been heading creating a ship
Sakai Takashi: it is a nova class vessel
Sakai Takashi: it is a small 8 deck ship that is 165m long
Sakai Takashi: the reason i have started creating it, is to possibly be station in the Galaxy sim
Sakai Takashi: it would consume about 3-5k primes
Sakai Takashi: but it will be a good atraction to the land, as the defiant is for the Indigo land...
You: ejem...we wanted to hear your idea on the standard group uniforms
Sakai Takashi: its primary prupose would be used for the RPG, but it could serve as potential sources of income
Nikola Shirakawa: i thogutn you wre goign t talk abotu standard uniforms
Sakai Takashi: oh... that... ok... more on the ship can be found on the forums
You: 2 minutes please
Sakai Takashi: now, regarding the uniforms
Sakai Takashi: A Standard Uniform used for ALL official events such as the RPG?s and such.
Katrina Bixby: plus it will be on display in the sand box next door to this building after the meeting
Sakai Takashi: the pruse of a uniform is to to look the same...
Nikola Shirakawa: i dont think people will go for it
Kekken Biberman: I dont think..a uniform would make me look much like anyone here ^^;
Sakai Takashi: ... it does not look profesional when we have people wearing clothing from diffrent erras
Nikola Shirakawa: i have yet to attend a session where evryoen wore the smae unfiorm
Al Kaiser: i agree Sakai contiue
Sakai Takashi: well, having a standard uniform would only be used for events. when you are just doing what ever, you can be in what ever.
Nikola Shirakawa: why does everyone have to look professioanl?
Nikola Shirakawa: isnt the point of the rping to have fun?
Sakai Takashi: because the cannon federation is profestional, and are we not suposed to emulate them?
Al Kaiser: yes we are
Nikola Shirakawa: to a degree
Nikola Shirakawa: but secodn lfie is about expressing yourself
Kitshoji Hauptmann: Starfleet is a military orginization, like it or not. In a military setting you wear a uniform of the day, EVERYONE wears the same thing. for RP that makes sense.
Auryn Sapeur: I agree with Sakai myself, but I do think there will be a problem with agreeing on the "standard" uniform. I would go with the DS9/Nemesis uniforms as those were the latest "canon" uniforms. but I'd wager there would be disagreements
Sakai Takashi: because it looks slopish if we are all wearing diffrent stuff.
Nikola Shirakawa: next you'll be sayign get rdi of the furries, non non-trek species
Talon Lardner: I could like the idea for having a standard era for uniformed events as long as there is flexibility in the uniform you wear, and allow civilian clothes for those who play civilians,
and jackets and endornments like Worf wears.
Nikola Shirakawa: people wont like it overall
Katrina Bixby: Sakai mentioned this to me, and I told him lets get the opinion of the membership! team StarFleet
Kitshoji Hauptmann: I agree with the DS9 wartime grey uniforms.
Nikola Shirakawa: and the atrendance will go down the crapper
Al Kaiser: i agree Talon
Talon Lardner: Well, it depends on how strict the uniforms are...
Sakai Takashi: im only saying this for events... you dont see people on star trek wearing diffrent uniforms (sT:gernations contradicts this)
Nikola Shirakawa: in real life it seems perfect, but if you amke this fun group too profesisonal
Nikola Shirakawa: noone will show up
Kitshoji Hauptmann: why not have RP set in different time periods? I've been working on a Miranda class bridge to RP on... so it would need movie era uniforms. the Galaxy class bridge here would need TNG era uniforms, etc.
Auryn Sapeur: Generations was meant to show a transition period between uniforms
Nikola Shirakawa: it'll become mroe of an obligation than a fun activity
Sakai Takashi: i know.. i was going to mention that
You: 1 more minute of discussion
Nikola Shirakawa: besdies different rp sessions can be held, so if you want eveyrone to look the same, sechdule your own rp and set the rules
Auryn Sapeur: Different RP times would be neat actually
Sakai Takashi: it will still be fun, but it will look profesional, and part of this group should to be profesional.
Kitshoji Hauptmann: hehe, and time travel cross overs ")
Nikola Shirakawa: thats a bad idea
Nikola Shirakawa: the professionalism will make people mad
You: thank you Sakai for your presentation
Nikola Shirakawa: its nto about beign professional its about enjoyign yourself
Sakai Takashi: aye, sir
Talon Lardner: I agree with both Nikola and Sakai, actually
Al Kaiser: Sir may we put it to a vote
Nikola Shirakawa: unelss you plan on making ti worth people' while to do it, they wont do it
You: we will need to futher discuss this issue, it seems to be an important one
You: lets further the discussion on theforums and reconsider during our next general meeting
Al Kaiser: ok
Nikola Shirakawa: perosnaslly ti doest matter caus ei dont show up to it anyway, but im tellign you you will regret it if you do it
Sakai Takashi: i will make a mention on the forums sir.
You: thank you all for your attendance and participation in this meeting
You: please check out the ship bridge in the sandbox
You: until next general meeting, dimissed !

Nikola Shirakawa: i dont think people will go for it
Kekken Biberman: I dont think..a uniform would make me look much like anyone here ^^;
Sakai Takashi: ... it does not look profesional when we have people wearing clothing from diffrent erras
