After a long hiatus, the StarFleet Public Lecture Series is returning.
Now running under the broader auspices of StarFleet Academy rather than just the Library, it is hoped that we will generate more publicity for our organization.
The next lecture will be on warp drive technology and be delivered by Mr Jim Foxley. Details are as follows:
DATE: Saturday, 31 March 2007 START: 1900 SLT END: 2030 SLT VENUE: StarFleet Auditorium, Aeon.
Please join us in examining the technology that expedited interstellar travel and opened up the galaxy for those bold enough to venture forth. Jim has promised a time for fielding questions from the audience after his presentation.
An official lecture title and abstract will posted as they become available.

The abstract for the abovementioned lecture is provided below.
Title: "Warp Propulsion Theory"
Since Zefram Cochrane, all StarFleet ships use warp drives to go where no man has gone before. But the concept of warp has been altered among the many Star Trek series and movies. What puts StarFleet spaceships forth at lightspeed, how it works and what (real or fictional) theories are related to this is the subject of discusion on 'Warp Propulsion Theory'.
