[16:40] You: yes
[16:41] You: ok, now the Science Report , Lt Cmdr Vanessa Noarlunga
[16:41] Ryan Franciosa: whoot go Vanessa
[16:42] Vanessa Noarlunga: Science Report Dear fellow officers and sentient beings Welcome to the annual intergalactic dust mite conference, in this lecture I will discuss the mating habit of Klingon Nuluwut h-kah hair mites…….oh wait this is SFCSLQ…darn wrong speech..uhm …one second….ah yes here it is!
[16:43] Vanessa Noarlunga: Much has happened since I delivered my last Science Report. Medical has surpassed examining Recruit 100. Xenomusicology is planning a music festival with life music (planning stages). Bedwyr Merlin has done some amazing work and it is really worth to be checked out!
[16:43] Bedwyr Merlin: LMAO
[16:43] Vanessa Noarlunga: One of my leading developers Monorplock Belford is working on an amazing data mapping system that allows such commands as : “Computer , where is Cadet John Smith? : “Cadet John Smith is in Aeon Sandbox.”
[16:43] Vanessa Noarlunga: Basically the system is designed to give the comm badges much of the functions they have in the Shows: 1) SLQ wide chat (not IM) 2) Member location 3) Language translation ( special sub project) The system will also be capable to display the location of any member (wearing the active badge) in a three dimensional “Hologram “display.
[16:43] Vanessa Noarlunga: Currently it only works with 4 persons (the ones having test badges) but the system can be scaled to any number. In order for the FFB Project (Full Functional Badge) to go into Phase 3 a Cartographic team is needed to survey our SIMS. Details will be made available to interested volunteers. (Please contact me after the GM via IM or note card)
[16:44] Vanessa Noarlunga: If I go fast throw a shoe or say something
[16:44] Vanessa Noarlunga: The High Altitude research Program under the lead of Jordguitar Flasheart supplied vital data to the ANTI LAG project and allowed us to discover a “loop hole” / “ bug exploit” which now is reported to Linden Labs and going to be fixed. Due to the nature of the matter I am not at liberty to discuss the details until we have report that it is fixed.
[16:44] Vanessa Noarlunga: However I like to use this opportunity to thank jordguitar and his very small team and like to tell you how impressed the Linden Engineer was as he received your results and he complimented SFCSLQ for encouraging and engaging in such activities.
[16:44] Vanessa Noarlunga: With the new wind of wonderful cooperation that is blowing in SFCSLQ , the Science department not only works with Personnel in close cooperation, we now work alongside security in harmony, excelling in each divisions chosen field and thus together propelling SFCSLQ as a group and as a Unit to new heights.
[16:44] BJ Cheetah: /shoes will not come off
[16:45] Vanessa Noarlunga: The Science department announces the SS-Sagittarius will be greatly expanded and in this new light of cooperation among departments, Security agreed to incorporate SSS into their area and in return the Security office received full security powers taking over this vital role.
[16:45] Vanessa Noarlunga: That means in practical terms : SSS remains to be a perpetual Role-play environment where you can be whatever you choose to be (within the SFCSLQ and SSS specific rules) but the role playing Security force aboard SSS will consist of members of the SFCSLQ department and while they are in character they still wield very real powers to enforce our rules and regulations. Thank you Rod Halberd and the industrious Paula Dix for incredible work ( Lead and assistant lead of the SSS project)
[16:45] Vanessa Noarlunga: Science and Personnel always had a good working relationship, due to simple RL time challenges the Go 1000 project has slowed down a bit in terms of development and growing but the established work bears fruit as our increasing numbers testify and we are indeed very near that magical 1000 member threshold.
[16:45] Vanessa Noarlunga: For your older and established members I suggest you find your way one of these days to personnel and see how much the process of integrating a new member has advanced, it is an entire new experience of professionalism, role play and true Trek spirit. I am a back up personnel officer and had the opportunity to process a recruit the other day and I tell you I was impressed.
[16:46] Vanessa Noarlunga: If you like to clap, applaud at this point for what Stones and his team managed to accomplish. You all can be terribly proud as how your organization, SFCSLQ is presented to new comers!
[16:46] Rowan Jacobus: yay!
[16:46] Vanessa Noarlunga: Dirk Klees and his tremendously talented team as well as associates of the Science department work on the in world Data solution to provide Personnel with better tools to ease their work load.
[16:46] Vanessa Noarlunga: The biggest news this week comes out of the ANTI LAG department which advanced to become a full Science department under the visionary lead of Ryan Franciosa. What they have done and discovered the last weeks borders on the fantastic. Jim Foxley, Freelancer, Shannon and the others of LAG research brought in a level of professionalism and advances that are truly amazing.
[16:46] Vanessa Noarlunga: A complete new level of Server LAG and Prim lag understanding has been reached and allowed us to pinpoint an actual thread to SIM stability. Tireless efforts of the LAG team in association with members of the security department uncovered literally hundreds of invisi- prims, prim colliders, script prims and other litter and nasty surprises.
[16:47] Vanessa Noarlunga: Here I am presenting to you prototypes of the Personal LAG scanner and the Running script analyzer hand held scanner, the RSA-Analyzer belt worn voice activated gadgets. What other news the LAG department has will surly come from its respective lead.
[16:48] Vanessa Noarlunga: These devices are marvels of SL technology ans can be wron in mny SIm and give detailed LAG info
[16:48] MissySkyra Yoshikawa: WoW!!
[16:48] Vanessa Noarlunga: The Q-Pedia program will be restructured next week and is planned to leave Science and join the SFCSQ Library under the lead of Robobby McMillan
[16:48] MissySkyra Yoshikawa: cool technology
[16:48] Vanessa Noarlunga: Ter Watanabe a new member of SFCSLQ will start a new work group program within Science and develop a new concept. Once it is proven and working it will be handed over to ACADEMY.
[16:48] Vanessa Noarlunga: Ter Watanabe is a real life US navy Officer and he will develop classes on Officer conduct and ethics. He will produce teaching material and multi media aids based on the impeccable conduct Star trek officer displayed and real life US Navy instruction material tailored to fit SFCSLQ , Star trek and SL. Members with real life military background who understand what we mean by officer conduct and ethics are welcome to contact Ter Watanabe to assist him in developing classes and teaching aids. Once Watanabe has advanced to a point where he is able to provide classes his work group will hopefully be integrated into the Academy.
[16:49] Vanessa Noarlunga: In light of these utmost positive changes I am not standing here in front of you not only as Chief of Science but first and foremost I am a SFCSLQ member and excuse the profane language : d**n PROUD OF IT.In light of these utmost positive changes I am not standing here in front of you not only as Chief of Science but first and foremost I am a SFCSLQ member and excuse the profane language : d**n PROUD OF IT.
[16:49] Vanessa Noarlunga: Sure there are still challenges and yes there are voices of critique and opposition but these are intelligent , objective voices expressing valid points and not personal subjective agendas. Indeed much has changed and continues to change.
[16:49] Katrina Bixby: claps
[16:49] You: /c
[16:49] Vanessa Noarlunga: Thank you , each of you from the newest recruit , to the tireless service providers in Personnel, the medical team that invigorated and vitalized the part medical plays in our group to the department leads and all the way up to the Admirals who sometimes challenged and criticized never waiver in their vision and their believe in this group.
