I think the RP aspect was one of the things which drew me to join in the first place; although I would've probably joined as a Klingon instead of Human (and later having it changed to Bajoran). There's not a female Klingon avatar yet that I've located, though.
Personal character sheets (with bios/backgrounds, skills, advantages/disadvantages) work great for keeping you In Character and letting you know just what you can or can't do; although most of the time you could probably 'fake' it with some of the things by having skills 'barely' make it or fail horribly if you're such a fish out of water at the post you're manning at the moment.
I don't see the sim doing the full character sheet thing, though. That's just more work than a community this large needs. For people whom are interested, though, I think that having a sheet with character info like Background, Skills, etc by the desk when you're playing might spice up the RP some since you can refer to it from time to time and play off your character's strengths and weaknesses.
